Ethanol is used in the lab in a number of protocols as both a reagent and a method of sterilizing tools and work spaces. We keep stocks of 70% and 95% ethanol in squeeze bottles around lab for cleaning bench spaces. We refill the squeeze bottles every week as part of Friday Clean-Up tasks.
