The lab microwave is used in order to melt agarose for makeing agarose gels for electrophoresis.

Notes and Warning: DO NOT microwave any containers with caps or lids. DO NOT place any food items in the microwave. Please use the heat resistant gloves whenever removing hot liquids from the microwave.

Equipment maintenance: Clean thoroughly if anything spills or boils over in the microwave.
