The Yeti is what we use in order to retrieve and use liquid nitrogen. Liquid nitrogen can be obtained from the BMB department in Fitz hall on the second floor (have someone show you where it is and how to use it). Liquid nitrogen is used in worm lysis protocols and for freezing bacterial strains.

**Notes and Warning:** Always use caution when working with liquid nitrogen. NEVER seal a container that contains liquid nitrogen. Wear gloves and always retrieve samples with tweezers. 

**Equipment maintenance:** Always clean before use. Clean after all nitrogen has evaporated. If you are replacing the container to the shelf and it still contains nitrogen, please leave a note with the date, time and your initials.
