The -80°C Freezer is where all yeast (including yeast knockout collections, tet-off and damp collections), bacterial (including the Vidal and Ahringer RNAi collections), and worms strains are stored. There are also a number of kits that are kept at -80°C for long term storage (Dual Luciferase Assay Kit)

**Notes and Warning:** Whenever getting into the -80°C Freezer, please remember to use gloves to protect your skin from freezer burn. It is recommended that you use both nitrile gloves and the freezer gloves.  

**Equipment maintenance:** Use the ice scraper that is attached to the side of the freezer to remove any excess ice whenever you are in the freezer. Check the filter in the vent located at the bottom front of the freezer every month for dust/debris. Clean as needed.
