50% PEG is used in a number of transformation protocols including episomal transformation and high efficiency transformations.

**Warnings** This is very viscous! Pipette slowly.


===== Media Recipe and Directions=====

**Directions** 

  * Add 1/4 the final volume [[milliq_water|milli-Q]] water into a labeled [[glassware|beaker]] with a stir bar
  * Add the appropriate amount of PEG to the beaker and mix until dissolved
  * Add water to the final volume
  * [[filter_sterilizing_stocks|Filter sterilize]] into labeled bottles
