====== 2% Agarose ====== Izabelle Chavez ==== Description ==== ---- **Location:**drawer 46 **Notes and Warning:** Please indicate here if the reagent requires any special handling or storage. ===== Media Recipe and Directions===== - Measure out 400 mg agarose in small weight boat with small scale. - Pour agarose into 50 mL flask. - Add Baxter water up to 20 mL line of flask. - Slosh to mix agarose and water. - Microwave flask without foil for 15 seconds. - Swirl solution, if there is still undissolved agarose microwave in 15 second intervals until all is dissolved. **Media Recipe** For mounting worms, 20mL is sufficient. Note: move quickly to store since this solution will solidify. Place the tube top before rewarming and rewarm each tube at 65-75°C with 3rd spare heat block. Prep the heat block overnight if not already set.
