Chunking Worms

YOU WILL NEED:

1. 200 proof ethanol
2. FIRE
3. Xacto knife
4. Plate(s) that you are chunking from
5. Plate(s) that you are chunking to

As with all procedures when you are working with live things, please clean off the bench.

• Turn the flame on. Run your knife through the flame until it gets very hot and turns red. Dip it in the ethanol. Quickly run it through the flame again. Your knife is now sterile and cool enough to begin chunking.
• Cut out the shape that was drawn on the plate you are chunking from.
• Scoop the chunk with your knife like a pancake ready to be flipped.
• Flip the chunk over to the outer part of the new plate so your chunk is not in the middle of the lawn.
• Clean up your knife and your mess.
