The lab microwave is used in order to melt agarose for makeing agarose gels for electrophoresis.

**Notes and Warning:** DO NOT microwave any containers with caps or lids. DO NOT place any food items in the microwave. Please use the heat resistant gloves whenever removing hot liquids from the microwave. 

**Equipment maintenance:** Clean thoroughly if anything spills or boils over in the microwave.
